What’s in a Name?

We have given an introduction to what led us to create this blog and what it means to us.

So, that being said, let’s go ahead and address the elephant in the room.

Why Nomes? Why not Gnomes? Is this a music blog or a lawn ornament blog? Should gnomes have ever had a “G” in the first place?

Maybe there’s no G because a gnome lost their best friend (pour one out for his gnomies). Maybe it’s Nomes because of a friend’s vertically challenged sister whose fantasy band name was the Nomes that motivated the creation of this blog. Maybe Nome is short for “no home” because we felt our musical taste wasn’t represented in any other medium.

To us, Nomes are anyone and everyone, but to be honest, Nomes can mean whatever you want it to mean. What’s important is that you’re here, and we’re happy to have you.

We envisioned this as a dialogue, and we want to hear from YOU.

We share what we are passionate about because we want to know what you are passionate about. We don’t care if you think it isn’t our thing. Josh and I are both very different, and sometimes, even when we do like the same things, it is for completely different reasons.

Differences don’t have to be divisive, they should be conversation pieces to help us understand one another.
